Not a lot to see or say here peeps--just an old bridge that I fell in love with long before I ever saw it in person. More precisely, a really, really old bridge that was used by medieval travelers on their pilgrimage to Rome. Medieval--one of my favorite words.
I saw this bridge in a photo before I left for Italy and knew it was somewhere I wanted to photograph. I love the greens, the full circles the bridge's reflection creates in the water and it's a perfect spot to watch the changing colors of light as the sun sets in the valley.
Ponte de Diavolo, aka Ponte della Maddalena is just about a 30 min drive outside of Lucca near Bagni di Lucca. While not on any main driving routes or paths, it's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.
My green Tieks have seen a lot of Italy....seriously, so comfortable.
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, just gorgeous dahling. I think this is worthy of a large print on the wall and I'm glad to see that you listened and got your ass in at least one photo. You'll want to see those for too for memories sake. Just hand that camera over and walk a stranger through the 400 steps to using it.
ReplyDeleteJust like you said in earlier posts, how lucky is the person who lives on that hill? This is breathtaking, I love that you are seeing and sharing smaller out of the way places too. Keep em coming girl.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! We visited Ponte della Diavalo on our way up to Bagni di Lucca (which we love too) and I took a large photo that I hung in our family room. It's such a peaceful place and you are right about the sun changing the colors of everything as it sets.
ReplyDeleteOkay these are amazing beautiful too. I love the greens in the water too, Im not sure I've seen such green waters before.
ReplyDeleteThis bridge is so pretty along with the countryside. I think Tuscany will be a dream come true for us. I wish we were going to have a car so we could go see this bridge in person too. It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteYeah, glad you got into a picture. Hopefully you have some with yourself in them that you are not sharing with us so that you have them for memories.
