Cambodia and Angkor Wat

I'll keep the commentary to a minimum in this post (read feeling LAZY) and let the images do most of the talking....starting with everyday life in Poi Pet.

Breakfast with a  2, 3, 4 glasses of iced coffee starts the day out properly.

Siem Reap.  Cambodia has the craziest driving I've ever seen.  There are no rules and sometimes it would be 4 cars across in a 2 lane road.

After the days in the field we weren't refusing a little hotel pampering in Siem Reap.

Pub Street in Siem Reap was packed upon packed upon packed with tourists.

Cool or creepy?  I vote creepy.

Angkor Wat.  What you can't see well is the scaffolding that goes up on a tourist site right before I arrive.  Always.

The below shot was made cool with the appearance of a monk in the doorway.  Said monk was talking on his cell phone...coolness factor was lost.

Angkor Wat is the type of place you can spend days upon days visiting.  Just a note though that January is right in the middle of high tourist season and it was an absolute overwhelming zoo.  I'd recommend any time but high season.

Some of these images remind me of our time in the Philippines and Vietnam. I love the iced coffee there!

You've taken beautiful photos as always!

Wonderful, wonderful photos! We've never been to Asia yet but definitely want to go when the kids are older. I think this would be a wonderful experience for them as well.

A fish pedicure WHAT?!?!?! The kids on the train track seems like a sad picture and Angkor Wat is so pretty! Love the pictures.

A lovely collection! We were just at Angkor in October of this past year, and I'm sorting photos and stories today for a future blog post. I love the shot of your pose next to the relief sculptures at the temple. xx
