Road Trip

Road trips can be a lot of fun with the windows down and the music blaring.  Or they can be a pain with the snow coming down like crazy across the high country.  I probably should have taken the longer south route down through New Mexico and Arizona, but the weather.com assured me I could expect 0% chance of precipitation on the I-70 and I-15 stretches on Saturday.

But there were some pretty breathtaking sites...and we stopped at many of them for puppy breaks.

Starting in Colorado...Glenwood Canyon is always a favorite.

Utah started off not too shabby either...

But then it became this for the remainder of the state....

But then off in the distance there's a bit of blue sky, right about where Arizona began. It was as if Arizona just refuses to acknowledge snow.

And finally we made it to the sunny blue skies of Vegas....to see a little Chipmunk.

,,as an arizona native i do know my great state does not take a liking to the cold, white stuff i believe they perform voo-doo when there's any sign of its arrival,,,

Glad to see you back!

I have to say that driving across the Rockies in the winter could be one of my least favorite things. Of course, I rarely drive in the snow ever so it's so stressful!

I used to love raod trips more but now find them so exhausting. Still it is hard to ignore the beauty of our country as it changes from state to state.

She's adorable. I can't believe how green the grass is in Vegas. I always thought Vegas looked like the desert.

Voodoo-ha love it!
Mel--she actually didn't sleep in the morning despite using your puppy stairmaster so vigorously the night before. :) But she slept the rest of the entire trip. I think she was car sick from all of the curves because she didn't eat all day. :(
Anna--it's actually faux grass. It's like astroturf on a spongy base. Perfect for falling children at the park I suppose. :)
