Israeli Couscous with Figs and Carmelized Onions

Think a recipe post in photos and captions only isn't possible?  Let me give it a try....okay, do have to say I toasted the couscous first...great flavor...and then cooked it per the directions on the bag(using veggie broth in place of the water).  The amount of figs, goat cheese, salt, pepper, oil and vinaigrette is per your own taste...I used 1 bag of israeli couscous, half a red onion, one full container of the Trader Joes figs (12 -16 oz?) and about 1/4 cup of crumbled goat cheese, 1/4 cup olive oil and 2-3 tbsp balsamic reduction.  Season with salt and pepper.

Okay, so maybe it's not possible to post a recipe with just photo captions.

I had israeli couscous at a restaurant just recently and loved it. I'd never even heard of it before then. I also really love figs so this dish is definitely calling out to me. YUM!

I've always wondered what isreali couscous was. Is it pastla like in texture or more like regular couscous?

I love figs and love making fig foods when they are in season. I love the idea of goat cheese and balsamic with the figs!

I have never tried israeli couscous but am definitely intrigued by it! I always love figs and goat cheese and balsamic though. Those flavors are so perfect together! Didn't you make a flatbread pizza with similar flavors?

I recently discovered israeli couscous and love the little bite it has. I've never tried figs before but anything with goat cheese and balsamic glaze can't be bad. In fact, this looks SO delish!

figs are one of my favorite treats ever. They are only available here about 3 weeks out of the year, but I take full advantage of that time. They are great in savory stuff like this and also so delicious in desserts or just drizzled with honey!

I bought isreali couscous awhile back and haven't known what to make with it. I love figs and I love goat cheese. I actually made your goat cheese and fig flatbread for book club and it was a hit so will be trying this!
